Aloha, I'm Michael Huddleston — this is home.



I've been on Maui off and on for years, and this island taught me how to see light. Camera came later — the love for this place came first. These days the two are tangled together: I can't separate shooting photos from just living here, running into people I know at the beach, knowing which parking lot fills up by 7am and which one nobody bothers with.

I shoot the way I'd want to be shot — unposed, unrushed, no forced "look natural" natural. Whether it's your wedding day or a Sunday with the kids at the beach park, I'm just trying to catch what it actually felt like to be there.

I also care about doing this right by the island. That means respecting cultural and sacred sites, not trespassing for "the shot," and steering couples away from spots that are overused or off-limits — even if it means a smaller crowd on Instagram.
